Here’s our Winterplay Studios Review After Trying Their Traffic Services
Winterplay Studios is a digital marketing company that offers a variety of digital marketing services. Originally starting off as website traffic provider, they’ve send branched off to provide other services like Instagram followers and backlinks. In our Winterplay Studios review, we’ll cover most of their services while offering our opinion on a few services we’ve used.
Traffic Campaigns
We’ll start off with Winterplay Studio’s review with their traffic campaigns as this is the one most people are probably buying. We purchased their campaign for a test and it turned out much easier to use than we had expected. Although we had our doubts in terms of the usefulness of their traffic which we’ll explain below.
We purchased a Tier 1 traffic plan which drove around 200 visitors each day to our website. The campaign lasted for 30 days an automatically stopped after 30th day without us having to do anything. There were no additional payments needed other than the initial $35 dollars we paid. We have the option of purchasing a monthly plan with them but opted not to for the purpose of trying it out.
They provide a URL shortener like bit.ly to help us see the number of visitors they provide to us each day, but we primarily used Google Analytics due to it’s superior reporting abilities.
The first thing we’ll say is that while their reporting tool indeed indicated around 200 visitors per day, in Google Analytics, it only reported around 130-150/day. This is a bit lower than what they advertised so we reached out to their support team, who indicated to us that this is due to how Google labels visitors vs the tool used. Support told us most users that have Adblock or other privacy browser add-ons may not be properly labeled by Google Analytics, especially when the browser add-on prevents JavaScript from properly rendering.
We felt this was a reasonable explanation because Google Analytics does use JavaScript (you have to copy & past a JavaScript code to your website to install it initially), however we’re a bit doubtful at the volume of users who has Adblock turned on. Getting 130-150/day vs the advertised 200/day represents a bit gap, but we let it slide because their traffic service is pretty cheap even if we’re only getting 100/day. At $35 for even just 3,000 visitors, we’re paying less than $0.01/visitor, so no complaints there.
Unfortunately during our traffic plan, we didn’t make any sales. We suspect this is primarily due to the traffic quality, but we did receive a some email opt-ins. For the price of a few cafe lattes, we felt their traffic service wasn’t a waste of money and provided some value for us.
Overall we think you get what you pay for with their traffic service. It’s a very cheap traffic service that’s easy to order and setup but the results are not as high in quality as paying the big bucks at other providers like Instagram Ads. Speaking of Instagram followers, we’ll talk about that next
Instagram Followers
In 2019 they began rolling out their Instagram follower service. We reached out to them for more information, and they advised these followers are provided via a 3rd party vendor. We purchased 500 followers for a plan and it seems most of the accounts are inactive and we saw some of the Instagram followers drop after a few weeks.
A month after our initial order for 500 followers and we were left with around 350 followers. We paid a little under $40 using their 10% discount code, so it was around $0.10 per follower.
We think this is a good value service, however it’s advisable to understand what you’re getting. For $40, you’re not going to get go from an Instagram account with zero followers to one with an active following, that wouldn’t be realistic. What we ended up getting is a bigger follower base so it’s easier to get more active followers organically.
We believe half the followers we receive were inactive while the other half were probably bots, hence why so many dropped off. In the end the price was good enough that purchased 5k more followers to help build out our audience base.
We would recommend this service with a caveat to perspective customers that you need to understand what you’re getting. It takes a lot of effort to build a big Instagram following. Even after purchasing their service, it still takes quite a bit of work to build up your organic follower base.
We recommend the Instagram Service if:
1. You plan on continuing to publish stories and posts after purchasing, or
2. You need to increase your follower base in order to get more organic followers to like your posts
Backlinks
We didn’t purchase any backlink service from them as part of our review, primarily because when we had reached out to their support, they explained it well enough for us to understand what they’re offering. At the time of writing, they had two primary backlink services, which we’ll explain a bit below.
1) Contextual Backlinks: Think of these as backlinks within or next to an article. You provide them with a few keywords and they’ll build 50, 100, or 150 backlinks for you, depending on the plan. Each backlink will be anchored as a hyperlink in page with an article. They add the article to provide context around the keyword phrases, hence the name ‘contextual backlinks’. Support did tell us that the backlinks provided in this service is a mix of do-follow and no-follow links.
2) Guest Blog Posts: These are guest blog posts in private blog networks (PBN). Some PBNs are useless while others are helpful for increasing your Google rankings. We didn’t have an opportunity to test their Guest Blog Post services so we couldn’t test, but assuming it’s the good kind, you’re basically getting a blog post in a larger website that talks about your service (i.e., t-shirts) and in the article, there’s one or two backlinks back to your website. Winterplay Studios did guarantee these backlinks are permanent and do-follow.
We felt their contextual backlink service looks fine and price is decent, while the Guest Blog Post at the time of our test was $60/each, which is a bit more expensive then we would like. Their support offered us a 15% discount to try this, so if you plan on ordering, make sure to ask for a discount code to take advantage of the offer.
To conclude our Winterplay Studios review, we believe their services are well priced but how useful they are depends on what you plan on doing with it. We’ve tried to lay out the benefits to each offering while identifying when it would be useful and what we recommend. I bought their traffic campaign and can confirm I also only see around 170 visitors a day (a bit higher than what you’re reporting). So far it’s not bad considering how cheap this is and I’ve gotten a few sales (had to change keywords once).
Do you recommend their tiered backlinks?
Hi Ryan, thanks for the comment.
We did test their “Large Tiered Backlink Plan” and have been waiting on publishing a SEO Provider’s ranking series before publishing our findings. To keep it short, I will say we were very impressed with the results 4 weeks after purchasing the plan with noticeable ranking improvement across several keywords. I’ll save the details for a post later on so stay tuned! 🙂
I tried them after reading your review, so far it’s not bad. They deliver the traffic exactly as they say but the number of sales I’ve gotten is lower than my prior efforts (primarily posting my business on Facebook groups), but I guess that’s because there’s dedicated groups for my niche.
For the price, this is a really good deal and helps me get some diversification in terms of sales channel and be less reliant on 100% facebook groups.
The review for Winterplay Studios was helpful as well as the comments from other business owners. I think Shoppersianrugs.com will give it a try. Thank you MarketersGuide.co
